QHSE Observer · ESOM Holding · Last updated 18 October 2026

QHSE Observer is a workplace health, safety and environment (HSE) app. Authorized ESOM Holding personnel and contractors use it to report safety observations, near misses and inspections, and to record training sessions and toolbox talks. This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and who can see it.

1. Who is responsible

ESOM Holding, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, operates the app and the server it uses. Contact: saif287430@gmail.com.

Location. When you create a report or take a photo for it, the app records your precise location (GPS) at that moment. It is saved with the report and on the photos, so the HSE team can see exactly where the issue was found. The app only uses your location while you are using it, never in the background, and does not track where you go. A photo you pick from your gallery can also contain the place where it was taken (photo metadata), depending on your phone’s camera settings.

The app has no advertising, no analytics or tracking tools and no third-party sign-in.

3. Permissions the app uses

The app asks for a permission only when you first use the feature that needs it, and uses it only for that feature. You can change any of them at any time in your phone’s settings; the rest of the app keeps working.

PermissionPhoneWhy the app needs it
CameraiPhone, AndroidTo take photos and record videos of a safety observation and attach them to your report.
MicrophoneiPhoneTo record the sound of a video you attach to a report. (On Android the phone’s own camera app records the video.)
PhotosiPhoneTo let you choose existing photos to attach to a report. You choose which photos; the app sees only those.
Storage (photos and files)AndroidTo let you choose existing photos to attach, and to keep report photos on the phone until they are uploaded. Newer Android versions use the system photo picker instead.
Location (while using the app)iPhone, AndroidTo save the precise place (GPS) where a report was made and where its photos were taken.
Internet and network stateiPhone, AndroidTo send your reports to the company server and to know when you are back online, so reports saved offline are sent automatically.

The app does not ask for contacts, calendar, Bluetooth, notifications or any other permission.

4. Who can see your information

5. Storage and security

Information is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection and stored on ESOM Holding’s server. So that the app works without a signal, reports and the lists you need are also kept on your phone until they are uploaded. Signing out removes your sign-in from the phone.

6. How long we keep it

Reports are company safety records and are kept for as long as your company needs them for HSE management and legal obligations. Accounts are disabled or deleted by your company’s administrator, for example when you leave.

7. Your choices and rights

You can ask to see the information held about you, to correct it, or to have your account and personal information deleted. Email saif287430@gmail.com or ask your HSE department. Some report records may need to be kept where the law or your company’s safety obligations require it; we will tell you if that applies.

8. Children

The app is for professional use by adults and is not directed at children.

9. Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
